Talk & Teach Thursday: November 29 '17 GUT HEALTH

Hopefully, you're reading this AFTER joining me for my weekly Talk & Teach Thursday Session (Every Thursday at 5pm CST in THIS private KWC Keto Support Group) If you haven't yet, I highly recommend watching that LIVE event!

Today we talked about Gut Health. What it means exactly, why it matters, and we identified what I personally consider to be the three main gut "types." Since nearly 75% of our immune tissue can be found in our digestive system. this means that proper immune system functioning relies heavily on a healthy gut flora. According to the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, the gut microbiota (bacteria) found in our gut is critical for regulating our immune systems. They also explain that if there is an disruption to this bacteria, this can cause immune irregularity which can lead to autoimmune disease and disorder and a host of other concerning and difficult to manage health issues or disorders.

Within the "gut health" spectrum I have personally developed a 3 Tier "typing" system that I find *most* of my clients fall within-and many (unfortunately) share symptoms and struggles from two or more "types." Within each type below I find that Acid Reflux, Diarrhea and or Constipation, and a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome are common symptoms shared across the board regardless of gut type.

The types are quickly detailed below, for easy reference.

Type 1: YEAST GUT

This gut type typically experiences the following struggles:

Acid Reflux, Diarrhea OR Constipation, Yeast Overgrowth ( vaginal yeast infections, Thrush, Candidiasis (yeast infection of the skin), IBS, Lingering Cough with Phlegm, Pale or White/Yellow Tongue. This is a common gut type for those who take Birth Control Pills or use Prescription Antibiotics.

This gut type should avoid the following:

Sugar, Yeast, Grain, Starchy Vegetables, Limit Raw Foods.

This gut type should supplement and support their gut type with the following:

Probiotics, Fermented Foods, Oregano Oil. Consider also including THIS GUT HEALTH SMOOTHIE 3-5 times per week.

Type 2: MAXED OUT GUT

When overly stressed, anxious and "maxed-out," the body diverts large amounts of blood away from your gut and digestive system which limits good bacteria growth which is essential for immune health.

This gut type typically experiences the following struggles:

Extreme cravings for coffee (caffeine), sodas, alcohol and sugar, Sleep Disturbances, Decreased libido, Difficulty Focusing and has often been diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue.

This gut type should avoid the following:

Caffeine, Alcohol, Sugar, Grains

This gut type should supplement and support their gut type with the following:

Probiotics, Fermented Foods, High-Quality Mineral Salt, Fattier Cut of Animal Protein, B Vitamin Supplementation, Relaxation, Stress Management and Regular Self Care. Consider also including THIS GUT HEALTH SMOOTHIE 3-5 times per week.

Type 3: SEPTIC GUT

This gut type can potentially be the most dangerous as this individuals extreme battle with craving fast-food and prepackages food(s) specifically with combination high levels of Fat, Sugar, and Addictive Chemicals is a disastrous recipe for creating a chain-redaction of havoc on the digestive system with autoimmune, digestive, endocrine, dermatological issues ( and more!)

This gut type typically experiences the following struggles:

Extreme cravings for combo high-fat/high-sugar & starch chemical-laden processed or packaged foods, Acid Reflux, Diarrhea or Constipation, Exhaustion, Irritability.

This gut type should avoid the following:

Alcohol, Fried Food, Nut Butters, Lactose Containing Dairy and Limit Caffeine.

This gut type should supplement and support their gut type with the following:

Green Leafy Vegetables, Probiotics, Fermented Foods, Extra Sleep or Rest, Dandelion Tea or Milk Thistle Supplements. Consider also including THIS GUT HEALTH SMOOTHIE 3-5 times per week.

Overall, when the body is "misbehaving" and giving us the symptoms listed above, it can often be a major sign that our digestive and gut health is compromised. Consider working with a Naturopathic or Functional Medicine Doctor for medical professional assistance in your gut-health journey.

I hope this post helps to inform you to the important of gut health, and get you started on your journey toward a healthy and well functioning digestive system and gut!
